Equations and Expressions Strand

The sequence of lessons below are for the 8th grade Expressions and Equations strand, paced for Georgia 7th-accelerated, which is closely aligned to the Common Core.

Solving One-Variable Equations

I set up the lessons for this skill on a separate website. They progress through the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade expecations for this skill. It starts from the very beginning (one-step equations), all the way through equations with variables on both sides.  There are 20 lessons that build incrementally.  I built the site in the style of the Modern Classrooms Project so that students could start at whatever point necessary and progress from there.

Linear Equations

The linear equations standards in this strand are hard to separate from those in the functions stand.  Personally, I teach them together. All of my videos and outside resources for the linear equations standards in both the EE strand and the functions strand are on my 8th grade functions standards page.
